Claiming a brand

If your brand is already in the catalog (added by the community or by us), you can claim it for free and edit the description, logo and photos, see who voted and get a badge for your website.

How it works

Claiming adds you to the brand team. If the brand has no team yet, you become its administrator. If it has one - you join as an editor (you can request the administrator role later). There are four ways:

  • With one click - when your Mybzz account has a confirmed email on the brand's domain (e.g. anna@yourbrand.com).
  • With a code from an email - you enter any address on the brand's domain or the address we wrote to the brand at. We send a 6-digit code to it, and the brand goes to the account you are signed in to.
  • With the “Claim profile” link from a Mybzz message - the address is already filled in, you only need the code.
  • By verifying website ownership (a TXT record in DNS or a meta tag) - straight away as administrator.

Claiming on the website

On mybzz.com

  1. Open your brand's page in the catalog (mybzz.com/brands/…).
  2. Click “Claim it free” (or “Claim brand”).
  3. If your account has a confirmed address on the brand's domain, you claim it straight away.
  4. Otherwise enter an address on the brand's domain and click “Send code”.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from the email. If you are not signed in, you sign in or create a free account and the brand is yours.

Claiming in the app

In the app (Android and iPhone)

  1. Tap your photo in the top left corner to open the menu.
  2. Tap “Brand directory” and open your brand's page.
  3. Tap claim brand, enter an address on the brand's domain and the code from the email.

Verifying via DNS or a meta tag

This way is useful when you do not have a mailbox on the brand's domain but have access to the website or DNS. It gives you the administrator role straight away. You will find it in “Manage brand” → “Team” → “Verify website ownership”.

  • A TXT record in the domain's DNS: mybzz-verify=YOUR_CODE.
  • Or a meta tag in the head section of the home page: <meta name="mybzz-verification" content="YOUR_CODE">.
  • You see your code in the panel - it is different for each brand and person. After adding it, click “Check”.
Note: DNS changes can take up to a few hours to become visible. If you see “We could not find the code on the website or in DNS”, try again later.

Good to know

  • Claiming is free.
  • The code is valid for a limited time, and after 5 wrong attempts it stops working - then send a new one.
  • The address on the brand's domain can be different from the one on your Mybzz account.
  • You sign in to a “brand-only” account at mybzz.com/brands/manage - enter the address the code was sent to when you claimed the brand, and we will send a sign-in code.

Frequently asked questions

I do not have an address on the brand's domain.

Use the “Claim profile” link from our message to the brand, or verify website ownership via DNS or a meta tag. If none of these works, message us in the chat.

Someone else already runs my brand.

On the brand page click “Request access”. With an address on the domain you join straight away as an editor, with another address - after an administrator approves. Then you can request the administrator role.

Does claiming change the brand's votes?

No. Votes and history stay. Team members cannot vote for their own brand, so your vote for it this month disappears.

Something not working?

“This address isn't on …”.

We only send the code to an address on the brand's domain or to the brand's contact address we wrote to. Addresses from free mailboxes (e.g. Gmail) will not work.

“The code has expired” or “Too many incorrect attempts”.

Click “Send the code again” and enter the new code as soon as you get it.

“This code was requested from a different account”.

The code only works on the account that requested it. Send a new code from the account you want the brand on.

Something missing? This documentation describes how Mybzz works today. If something doesn't match what you see, message us in the chat (bottom right corner of the website, or in the app: Settings → Contact Us) - we'll fix the guide or the app.
