About me, experience and skills
These sections show what you do and how you can help. We use them to match you with people in Meet, and others use them to decide whether they want to meet you.
How it works
You edit everything directly on your profile, the same way on the website and in the app. A filled-in section has a pencil (“Edit”), and an empty one shows a frame with an “Add” button. In the edit window you click “Save” or “Cancel”.
- “About me” - up to 1000 characters. We show the first sentence in bold on your profile. When signing up you have to write at least 20 characters.
- “Your goals” (“What you are looking for”) - up to 1000 characters. Only you see this. We use it to match you with people in Meet.
- “Experience” - “Job title” and “Company” (required, up to 50 characters), “Industry”, “Type” (Employee, Business owner, Freelancer, Consultant), “From” and “To” dates and “I currently work here”.
- “Skills” - up to 10, chosen from a list of suggestions.
- “Who you are” - under your name, e.g. Investor, Startup founder, Business owner, Freelancer. You can select several.
Editing on your profile
On mybzz.com
- Open your profile (click your photo in the left panel or “View profile” in the account menu).
- “About me”: click the pencil next to the heading or “Add”, type your text, “Save”.
- “Experience”: click “Add” or the pencil next to a position. Enter the job title and company, choose the industry from the suggestions, enter the dates as year and month (e.g. 2023-08) or tick “I currently work here”.
- Choose your main position: “Set as main”. This position is shown next to your photo.
- “Skills”: click the pencil, start typing (e.g. marketing) and choose from the list. You remove a skill with the cross next to it.
- “Who you are”: under your name click “+ Add who you are” or the pencil “Edit who you are”.
In the app (Android and iPhone)
- Tap your photo in the top left corner and choose “View Profile”.
- Tap the pencil next to a section or “Fill” in an empty section.
- Enter your changes and tap “Save”. The edit windows have the same fields and limits as on the website.
Good to know
- You delete an experience with the “Delete” button in the edit window (you confirm: “Delete this experience?”).
- You choose skills and industries only from the list. If you see “No such skill on the list. Try another word.”, type a shorter or different word.
- With 10 skills you will see “You already have 10 skills - remove one to add a new one.”.
- You change your first and last name with the pencil next to your name. They may only contain letters, spaces and hyphens.
- For a full “Complete your profile” bar you need at least 60 characters in “About me” and 3 skills.
Frequently asked questions
Who sees my goals (“What you are looking for”)?
Only you. We use them to match people in Meet.
Can I have several positions?
Yes. Add as many experiences as you want and set one as main.
Can I enter a skill that is not on the list?
No. Choose the closest one from the list of suggestions.
Something not working?
I cannot save an experience.
Check that you entered a job title and company, that the end date is not earlier than the start date and that the industry is chosen from the suggestions (or the field is empty).
The date does not save.
Enter it as year and month, e.g. 2023-08.
