Signing up with your phone number
You create your account with your phone number: you get a text message with a 6-digit code, enter it, and then complete a few short profile steps. It all takes a few minutes.
How it works
Your phone number is your login. There is no password: every time you sign in you get a new SMS code. Nobody else will see your number, it is only used for signing in.
Signing up has two parts. First you confirm your number with the SMS code and enter your first name, last name and email. Then you complete your profile. Only “About me” (at least 20 characters) and a profile photo showing your face are required. You can skip the rest and add it later.
It looks a bit different on the website and in the app: you accept the Terms differently, and you enter your details in a different order. Below we describe both versions.
Signing up on mybzz.com
On the website: step by step
- Click “Join for free”. The “Create your free account” screen opens.
- In the “Phone number” field choose your country (flag and dial code) and enter your number. Poland is set by default, you will find other countries using the search in the list.
- Below the number you see the Cloudflare verification box (bot protection). It usually ticks itself and shows a green check mark. If you see the message “Tick the Cloudflare verification box to continue.”, click the box.
- Read the text above the button: “By clicking “Continue”, you create an account or sign in and accept the Terms.” There is no checkbox on the website. Clicking “Continue” means you accept the Terms. The links to the Terms and the Privacy Policy open in a new tab.
- Click “Continue”. Enter the 6-digit code from the text message in the “Verification code” field and click “Verify”.
- Enter your “First name” and “Last name” and click “Continue”.
- Enter your email. The consent “I want to receive marketing communications from Mybzz.” is optional, you do not have to tick it. Click “Continue”. You will see “Registration complete!”.
- Complete your profile: “A bit about you” (required, 20 to 1000 characters), “Who are you?”, “What's your role?” (job title, company, industry), “How to reach you”. You can skip the last three steps with the “Skip” button.
- Finally, “Add a profile photo”: “Choose a photo” from your computer or “Take a photo”, adjust the crop and save. You cannot finish signing up without a photo.
Signing up in the app
In the app: step by step
- Open the app and tap “Get started”. You can change the language with the flag in the top right corner.
- On the “My number is” screen choose your country (search: “Search by country name or dial code”) and enter your number in the “Phone Number” field.
- Tick the consent box: “By creating an account you agree to our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Cookies”. In the app this box is required. If you do not tick it, you will see “Required”. Tap a document name to read it.
- Tap “Continue”. On the “Let's confirm it's you” screen enter the 6 digits from the text message. On Android the code often fills in by itself.
- Enter your email (the “My email is” screen). Consent to marketing messages is optional.
- Enter your first and last name (the “My name is” screen).
- Write “A bit about you” - at least 20 and at most 1000 characters. This step cannot be skipped.
- You can skip “Who are you?”, “What's your role?” and “How to reach you” with the “Skip” button in the top right corner.
- Add a photo: “Take a photo” or “Choose from gallery”, crop it and tap “Continue”. The photo is required.
Good to know
- The SMS code has 6 digits and is valid for 30 minutes.
- You can request a new code after 60 seconds (“Send again” on the website, “Resend code” in the app). Earlier codes that have not expired yet still work too.
- We send at most 5 text messages to one number within 24 hours.
- After 5 wrong codes you need to request a new code.
- If the number already has an account, entering the code simply signs you in - you cannot create a second account on the same number.
- Countries from which signing up is not possible do not appear in the dial code list. In the app, for such a number you will see “This dial code is not available.”
- In a few countries carriers do not deliver our text messages. In that case we send the code by email - see the article “SMS code not arriving”.
Frequently asked questions
Can I create an account with email or LinkedIn?
No. New accounts are created only with a phone number. You enter your email while signing up, but it is not used for signing in.
Will anyone see my phone number?
No. The number you sign in with is not shown to other users.
Can I finish signing up later?
Yes. If you stop, the next time you sign in you will return to the missing step. You can fully use your account only after adding “About me” and a photo.
Why is a photo required?
On Mybzz people want to see who they are talking to, and they reply more willingly to people with a photo. The photo must show your face - no logos, graphics or photos of other people.
Something not working?
I am not getting the text message with the code.
Wait a moment, the text message can take up to a minute. Check that your number and dial code are correct. After 60 seconds request the code again. More in the article “SMS code not arriving”.
The website says I need to tick the Cloudflare box.
Click the grey verification box above the “Continue” button. If it does not load, refresh the page or turn off your ad blocker for a moment.
The photo I chose does not appear.
On an iPhone the photo may only be in iCloud. Open it once in the Photos app so it downloads, or choose another one. On Android, first download a photo from the cloud (e.g. Google Photos) to your phone, or take a new one with the camera.
The app says “Add a photo with your face visible.”
Choose a photo where your face is clearly visible, from the front and without sunglasses. A group photo, a logo or a shot from far away will not pass.
