The “For You” post order
By default the feed shows posts in the “For You” order: fresh posts, posts from people close to you and posts with reactions are higher. On the website you can switch to “Latest”.
How we calculate the order
We take the newest posts you can see (public ones, yours and your contacts') and give each one a score. After them the feed shows older posts, newest first. The score depends on:
- Freshness - a post loses half of its weight every 36 hours.
- Reactions - a comment weighs more than a boost.
- Closeness to the author - your contacts, people matched to you, people you have recently interacted with and people from your city and industry are higher.
- Quality - a photo, video, poll or coloured background moves a post up. A very short text with nothing else (below 20 characters) moves it down. AI images are lower and do not make it into the top 10.
- New authors - the first posts of freshly created accounts get a temporary boost.
- Already seen - posts you have already seen or reacted to move down.
- Variety - each further post by the same person weighs less and less, so that one person does not take over the whole feed.
For the first 30 minutes your new post sits at the very top of your feed, so you can see it was published. The order refreshes about every 20 minutes, so scrolling does not lose or duplicate posts.
“Latest”
In “Latest” mode you simply see posts newest first. The switch is only on the website. The app always shows the “For You” order.
On the website: changing the order
- Go to the feed (mybzz.com/feed).
- Above the posts, in “Post order”, choose “For You” or “Latest”.
- We remember your choice in this browser.
In the app
- On the “Home” screen posts are always in the “For You” order. The app has no “Newest” switch - if you need it, use the website.
Good to know
- Posts from people you have blocked or who have blocked you do not appear in any mode.
- A “They want to meet you” card and a pinned post from Mybzz may appear between posts.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I see an old post higher than a new one?
The old post may have many comments or come from one of your contacts. If you prefer newest first, choose “Latest” on the website.
Why did my post drop lower?
Posts lose weight over time (half every 36 hours), and ones already seen move down. Comments and boosts help it come back up.
