Who can tag me

An @ tag in a post or comment sends you a notification. You decide who can tag you: everyone, your contacts and people in the conversation, or nobody.

How it works

When someone types @ and your name in a post or comment, you get a notification. You have three settings:

  • “Everyone” - contacts, people in the conversation under a post and people you chat with.
  • “Contacts and people in the conversation” - your contacts and people in the conversation under a post you take part in. This is the default setting.
  • “Nobody” - nobody can tag you.

You can always remove your tag from someone else's post or comment.

Changing the setting

On mybzz.com

  1. Click your photo in the top right corner → “Settings” → “Privacy”.
  2. In the “@ tags” part, next to “Who can tag me”, choose one of the three options. The change is saved straight away.

In the app (Android and iPhone)

  1. Menu (your photo) → “Settings”.
  2. In the “Mentions (@)” section tap “Who can tag me” and choose an option.

Good to know

  • People you have blocked (or who have blocked you) cannot tag you.
  • You can only tag someone who can see the post.
  • You can tag at most 5 people in one post or comment, and one person can make at most 100 tags a day.
  • The setting works the same on the website and in the app.
Tip: If you get a lot of tags from strangers, keep the default setting “Contacts and people in the conversation”.

Frequently asked questions

Someone tagged me and I do not want that.

Remove your tag from that post or comment. If it keeps happening, change the setting to “Nobody” or block this person.

Does the “Nobody” setting hide me on Mybzz?

No. It only blocks @ tags. To disappear from search, use “Hide profile” (VIP).

How do I tag someone in a post myself?

Type @ and start typing their name. More in the Feed and posts section.
