Notifications
You choose what we tell you about by email and what by push notification on your phone and in your browser. You will also see everything new in Mybzz under the bell or the rocket.
How it works
We divide notifications into three topics: “Messages” (when someone writes to you), “Events” (invitations, reminders and changes) and “News” (news and tips from Mybzz). You can get each topic through two channels: email and push. Push is a notification in the app on your phone and in the browser on your computer.
Regardless of these settings, we save every notification in Mybzz: on the website under the bell in the top bar, in the app under the rocket icon in the top right corner.
Notification settings
On mybzz.com
- Click your photo in the top right corner → “Settings” → “Notifications”.
- In the table you have the rows “Messages”, “Events”, “News” and the columns “Email” and “Push”.
- Turn a switch on or off. The change is saved straight away and also applies to the app.
In the app (Android and iPhone)
- Menu (your photo) → “Settings” → “Account Settings” section → the “Notifications” switch.
- The switch turns all notifications on your phone on or off at once. When you turn it off, the app asks “Turn off notifications?” and takes you to the system settings, where you block them.
- You change separate settings for messages, events and news, and email notifications, on the website.
Browser notifications
On the website, after your first activity (e.g. a like or visiting someone's profile), we will ask: “Enable notifications”. Choose “Enable notifications” and allow it in the browser pop-up. If you choose “Not now”, a small banner with an “Enable” button appears on the home page. If you close it with the cross, it comes back after 72 hours, then after 7 and after 30 days.
On the website: the bell and sound
- Click the bell in the top bar. The red number shows unread notifications.
- In the “Notifications” window you can turn the sound on or off, delete a single notification or “Delete all”.
Good to know
- The notification sound on the website is remembered by your browser. You set it separately on each computer.
- If you have blocked notifications for Mybzz on your phone, the app will show: “Notifications are turned off in your system settings. Tap to open settings and turn them on.”
- Turning off push does not remove notifications from the list under the bell and the rocket.
- Notifications come in the language set on your account.
Frequently asked questions
How do I stop getting news emails?
On the website: Settings → “Notifications” → turn off “Email” in the “News” row.
I turned off push on the website, but my phone still rings.
You turn off push separately for each topic. Check all three rows, or turn off notifications in the app with the “Notifications” switch.
Can I turn off only the sound?
On the website, yes: with the sound button in the “Notifications” window. On your phone you set the sound in the system settings.
Something not working?
I do not get notifications on my phone.
Check in the app Settings that the “Notifications” switch is on, and in your phone settings that Mybzz is allowed to send notifications. On the website also check that push is on for the topic.
My browser does not ask for permission.
You probably blocked it earlier. Click the padlock next to the page address and allow notifications for mybzz.com.
