How we pick people for your cards
Here is who we show you in “For You”, in what order, and where the match percentage comes from.
Who we show
Only active, verified accounts make it onto the cards. Every person shown meets all of these conditions:
- has a confirmed phone number or email address,
- has their own profile photo (not an automatic avatar with initials),
- has a known location,
- is within your distance range (unless you have VIP and “Whole World” turned on),
- has not hidden their profile, frozen or deleted their account,
- has not blocked you and you have not blocked them,
- you have not yet answered them with either “Add” or “Skip”.
We do not filter by gender or age. Mybzz has no such settings.
In what order
- First people within 10 km of you - starting with the nearest.
- Then people in further bands every 50 km. In each band, people who have the same goals as you are higher up.
- Then profile completeness counts: better completed profiles are higher.
- If we have calculated matches for you based on goals and bio, we show those people first.
Where we get your location
We calculate distance from the location in your profile: from GPS on your phone or browser, or from a city chosen manually. If there is none, we use an approximate area from your internet connection - only for this search, without saving it to your profile. On the website you will then see a note that this is an approximate location.
Match percentage
We calculate the “Match” on the card only from data in Mybzz, in 6 areas. You will see the details in the “Your match” section on the back of the card:
- “What you're looking for” - whether your goals and what you offer overlap,
- “Mutual contacts” - how many people know you both,
- “Distance” - how close you are to each other,
- “Shared events” - whether you have been to the same events on Mybzz,
- “Skills” - shared skills in your profiles,
- “Activity” - how active this person is.

- Open “Meet” → “Browse profiles”.
- Click “Details” on the card.
- Scroll to the “Your match” section.
In the app: how to see why you match
- “Search” → “For You”.
- Tap the card to flip it.
- Scroll to the “Your match” section.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I see people from far away and not from my city?
We first show people within 10 km. If there is no one like that or you have already seen them, we move on to further distance bands.
Why do I not see a particular person?
They may be outside your range, have a hidden profile, not have their own photo, or you have already answered them. You can find specific people in “Advanced search” (VIP).
Can I set the gender or age of people?
No. Mybzz picks people by goals, distance and profile, not by gender or age.
