Blocking and reporting

You can block a person so they stop messaging you and disappear from your cards, posts and search, and anonymously report their profile.

What blocking does

  • You cannot message each other - the text field disappears from your conversation. You see “You have blocked this user.”, and the other person sees that they cannot reply because you blocked them.
  • You do not see each other in Meet, in search, in the “They want to meet you” list or in contacts.
  • You do not see each other's posts and cannot tag each other (@).
  • Blocking works both ways, also when someone has blocked you.
  • The blocked person does not get a notification about the block.

On the website: blocking and unblocking

  1. Open the conversation with this person in the chat.
  2. Click “More options” (⋯) in the header and choose “Block user”. Confirm.
  3. To unblock, open the same conversation and click “Unblock”.

In the app: blocking and unblocking

  1. In the conversation open the menu in the header and choose “Block the profile”. You can also go to the menu (your photo) → “Connections”, tap the person and choose “Block the profile”.
  2. Confirm the block.
  3. To unblock, open the conversation with this person and tap “Unblock”.

There is no list of blocked people in the settings. You always unblock in the conversation with the person.

Reporting a profile

Reports are anonymous - the reported person will not find out who reported them. The Mybzz team checks every report. Reporting without a reason is against the Terms, so choose a reason that really fits.

On the website: reporting

  1. Open the conversation with this person.
  2. Click “More options” (⋯) → “Report profile”.
  3. Choose a reason: “Inappropriate content”, “Offensive behaviour”, “Fake profile”, “Spam” or “Other reason”.

In the app: reporting

  1. In the conversation open the menu in the header and choose “Report the profile”. Reasons: “Inappropriate information”, “Offensive behaviour”, “Fake Profile”, spam or another reason.
  2. Or: menu (your photo) → “Connections” → person → “Report the profile”. Here the reasons are: spam, “Offensive behaviour”, “Inappropriate messages”, “Other”.

Good to know

  • On the website you block and report a person from the conversation window - the profile itself does not have these options.
  • On the website a blocked person's profile may still open from a direct link. In the app you will see “Profile unavailable”.
  • Posts in the feed are not reported separately. If someone posts something inappropriate, block them or report their profile.
  • Blocking does not delete your conversation history.
Tip: Someone proposes a “sure investment”, asks for money or moves the conversation to a messenger app? Report the profile as “Fake profile” or “Spam” and block this person. Mybzz never asks for passwords or SMS codes.

What happens after a report?

The Mybzz team checks the profile. We block accounts that break the Terms.

Something missing? This documentation describes how Mybzz works today. If something doesn't match what you see, message us in the chat (bottom right corner of the website, or in the app: Settings → Contact Us) - we'll fix the guide or the app.
