Who can message whom

You message your connections for free. With VIP you can message anyone, and when someone messages you first, you reply without VIP.

How it works

You can send a message to another person when at least one of these conditions is met:

  • you have a connection (you both chose “Add” in Meet),
  • you already have a conversation - for example, someone with VIP messaged you, so you can reply for free,
  • you have VIP - then you can message anyone, including from a card in Meet, from a profile and from the “They want to meet you” list.

The same rule applies to text, voice messages and photos. When no condition is met, the message button opens the VIP page. Current VIP prices: $29/month or $249/year.

Where your conversations are

On the website: opening the chat

  1. Click the speech bubble icon in the top bar (address mybzz.com/chat).
  2. On the left you have the list of conversations with the “All” and “Groups” tabs and the “Search conversation...” field.
  3. Click a conversation, type in “Type a message...” and send.
  4. You start a new conversation from a person's profile (“Message”), from your contacts (“Send Message”) or from a card in Meet (“Message”).

In the app: opening the chat

  1. In the bottom menu tap “Chat”.
  2. Choose a conversation from the list (the “All” and “Groups” tabs).
  3. You start a new conversation from your connections (menu → “Connections” → person → “Send Message”) or from a card in Discover.

Spam protection

To protect users from scammers, we may limit the number of new conversations with strangers that a freshly created account can start per day. Such a limit never applies to replies, further messages in an ongoing conversation or messaging your connections. If you see a message about the daily limit of new conversations, try the next day.

We also review reports and suspicious behaviour every day. Accounts that approach strangers en masse may be blocked.

Good to know

  • When someone blocks you, you cannot reply in your conversation.
  • When the other person deletes their account, the conversation stays as a read-only archive.
  • You can message the Mybzz team without VIP - see the article about contacting us.
Tip: No VIP? Add people in Meet. Every mutual “Add” is a free conversation - and with a person who also wants to meet you.

Frequently asked questions

Someone with VIP messaged me. Do I need VIP to reply?

No. Once the conversation exists, you reply for free.

Can we still message each other after deleting a contact?

Yes, as long as your conversation exists. If you do not want contact, block this person.

Does VIP let me message a person who blocked me?

No. Blocking works regardless of VIP.

Something not working?

On the website I see a red message: “You need a VIP plan or must be connected…”.

It means you have no connection or conversation, and you do not have VIP. Add this person in Meet or turn on VIP.

My message is not sending.

Check your internet connection and whether the other person has blocked you. If the problem keeps coming back, message us through the help chat.

Something missing? This documentation describes how Mybzz works today. If something doesn't match what you see, message us in the chat (bottom right corner of the website, or in the app: Settings → Contact Us) - we'll fix the guide or the app.
