Chat translation
You write in your own language, and we automatically translate the other person's messages into the language you choose. Translation is free and unlimited.
How it works
- We translate incoming messages. Your messages are sent unchanged - the other person sees them in their language if they have translation turned on.
- Under a translated message you see the original in small print.
- You choose the target language from a full list of languages, not just the ones Mybzz is available in. By default it is the language you use Mybzz in.
- Translation turns on by itself when the other person's last message is in a different language from yours. If you turn it off, we remember that for this conversation and it will not turn on by itself again.
On the website: translation
- Open a conversation in the chat.
- Turn on the “Automatic conversation translation” switch.
- Click “Choose language” and find the language in the “Search language…” field.
In the app: translation
- Open a conversation in “Chat”.
- Above the text field turn on the “Translate automatically” switch.
- Tap “Translate to” and choose a language from the list (you can search it).
Good to know
- Translation works in 1:1 conversations and in group chats.
- The setting is saved separately for each conversation and separately on each device - you can have different ones on your phone and computer.
- Translation is automatic, so it can get company names, abbreviations and jokes wrong. If in doubt, read the original below.
- We also translate posts and comments in the feed - you will see “Automatically translated” and “See original” next to them.
Frequently asked questions
Is translation paid?
No. It is free for everyone, also without VIP.
Can the other person see that I use translation?
No. Everyone turns translation on only for themselves.
Why did translation turn on by itself?
The other person wrote in a different language from yours. Turn off the switch and it will not turn on by itself in this conversation again.
Something not working?
I only see the original, without translation.
Check that the switch is on and that the chosen language is different from the message language. If translation would not change anything, we show a single text.
