Joining an event and “Boost”
You sign up for a free event on Mybzz with one click and get a ticket with a QR code by email. “Boost” saves an event for later and pushes it up in the trending ranking.
How it works
After clicking “Get Ticket” you can end up in one of three places - it depends on the organiser's settings and free spots:
- “You're going!” - you have a spot. The ticket with a QR code arrives by email and is also on the event page.
- “Waiting for Approval” - the organiser approves guests manually. When they accept you, you will get an email with the ticket and a notification.
- Waiting list - all spots are taken. When someone drops out, the first person on the list gets the spot automatically.
The organiser gets a notification when someone joins, asks for approval or signs up for the waiting list. For events with registration at the organiser you do not sign up on Mybzz - the “Register on …” or “Register with the organizer” button takes you to their website.
Joining step by step
On mybzz.com
- Open an event from the list on mybzz.com/business-events.
- In the “Join the Guest List” box click “Get Ticket”. If you do not have an account, a short sign-up opens.
- When the event is full, you will see “Event Full” and the “Join Waiting List” button.
- After signing up click “Show Ticket” to see the QR code, or “Add to Calendar” (Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple / .ics).
In the app (Android and iPhone)
- Tap “Events” in the bottom menu and open the event.
- Tap the sign-up button at the bottom of the event details.
- After signing up you will see the ticket with the QR code in the event details, and in the event menu you can add it to your phone's calendar.
Cancelling your attendance
On mybzz.com
- Open the event you are signed up for.
- Click “Cancel Participation” and confirm.
- Your spot is freed up, and the organiser gets an email about it.
In the app (Android and iPhone)
- Open the event in the app.
- Tap the option to cancel your attendance and confirm.
Boost - save and push an event
“Boost” is more than a bookmark. A boosted event goes to your “Boosted events” list, and its boost counter goes up - this decides the order in “Trending now”. Your boost weighs as much as your daily streak multiplier 🔥, so regular activity gives it more power.
On the website: Boost
- On the event card or page click “Boost”. The button changes to “Boosted”.
- Click again (“Remove boost”) to remove the event from your list.
- You will find all boosted events under the 🚀 icon next to the “Events” and “Your Events” tabs, or at mybzz.com/loved-events.
In the app: Boost
- Tap the rocket 🚀 on the event.
- Boosted events are in the third tab at the top of the “Events” screen (rocket icon).
Your events in one place
On mybzz.com/my-events (“Your Events”) you see everything at once: events you have signed up for, the ones you organise and the ones where you are a co-organiser. You switch between “Upcoming” and “Past”. In the app it is the second tab at the top of the “Events” screen.
This page also has “My events in your calendar” - a private link you add to Google Calendar, Apple or Outlook. Every new event you sign up for will appear in your calendar by itself.
Good to know
- You do not join your own event as a guest - you are its organiser.
- You see the link to an online meeting only once you have a confirmed spot.
- If the organiser rejects your request, you will see “Registration Rejected” and you cannot sign up for that event again.
- You invite friends with the “Invite Friends via Chat” button - you can add a message of up to 1000 characters. You can only invite people you have a connection with.
Frequently asked questions
How much does signing up for an event cost?
Signing up for events with the “Get Ticket” button is free. For events with registration at the organiser, the terms (including the price) are set by the organiser on their website.
Can the organiser see that I signed up?
Yes. The organiser sees the guest list and gets a notification about each new sign-up.
Can others see that I am going?
If the event is public, the list of attendees is visible to others. For a private event only the organiser sees the list.
Can I join again after cancelling?
Yes, if there are free spots. When the event is full, you go onto the waiting list.
Something not working?
I did not get an email with the ticket.
Check your spam and “Promotions” folders. You can always see the ticket on the event page by clicking “Show Ticket”. If you are waiting for approval or are on the waiting list, there is no ticket yet.
I do not see the “Get Ticket” button.
The event may have already ended or been cancelled. For events with registration at the organiser, there is a button leading to their website instead.
